Loyal followers of Ariana Grande are calling for that a person who jumped a fence and grabbed the performer during the recent Wicked: For Good debut be taken into custody or expelled from Singapore.

A widely shared footage depicts the individual from Australia shoving aside photographers and rushing toward Grande while the performers proceeded down a yellow carpet surrounded by fans.

Fellow actress Cynthia Erivo quickly guided the shocked actress away from Mr Wen, who was observed being removed of the gathering by event staff.

Mr Wen stated on Instagram late on Thursday that he was "released after being arrested", though court documents showed that he was scheduled to be present on the next day. It is unknown if he was formally accused.

History of Incidents

This is not the first time for Mr Wen, who calls himself a "Controversial Figure", has disrupted a concert or event. His Instagram account includes clips of him disrupting other celebrity events, including rushing the platform at Katy Perry's Sydney show in earlier this year and in a comparable manner during The Chainsmokers concert in the area last year.

"Measures must be taken taken against him as this is clearly a criminal offence," commented an Instagram user, in a response to a video Mr Wen shared of his actions.

"You've done this repeatedly... how are you not behind bars?" a different Instagram user questioned.

Fans Voice Worry Over the Star's Safety

Numerous followers criticized Mr Wen for "causing further distress" Grande, who had discussed experiencing post-traumatic stress disorder after a suicide bomb attack at the conclusion of her 2017 concert in Manchester, killing 22 people and harming hundreds.

"Ariana has been through so many scary things... and at her Manchester concert and you thought it would be fun to jump the barricade?" commented another response on Instagram.

Several supporters also faulted guards at the gathering for not being adequately prepared; while different individuals demanded online networks to remove Mr Wen's content.

Reaction and Premiere Information

In footage spreading on the internet, Grande appeared shocked when she was approached by the individual. Her co-stars Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be spotted comforting her while Mr Wen was led out by guards.

Grande has not commented on the incident, and the remaining proceedings proceeded as normal.

Hundreds of fans had assembled in a sea of green and pink at the Wicked: For Good Asia-Pacific debut in a Singapore shopping center, including some who had waited for as long as many hours before it commenced.

The film, to be released on 21 November, is the follow-up of a two-film interpretation of the popular Broadway and West End production Wicked, which focuses on the unexpected friendship between two very different sorceresses.

The production itself is a derivative of the classic book The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who acts as the good witch Glinda, was decked out in a light pink glittering gown at the premiere while Erivo, who acts as the villainous character, wore a elegant ensemble featuring roses.

They were joined by co-star Jeff Goldblum.

The first movie, Wicked, was the most successful film of 2024 in the UK, and received 10 award recognitions, winning a pair for outstanding attire and set decoration.
