Week six of the 2025 NFL season

Live coverage features text commentary of Sunday's games via various channels, starting with Denver Broncos v New York Jets in London (from 14:00 BST). Additionally, audio coverage is available on select stations covering a separate game (from 21:00 BST).

We're in the sixth week in the NFL season and after recent talk about the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles being possible championship contenders, they both surrendered their perfect starts.

Striking in those games was the amount of penalties both conceded. The Eagles did so in key moments so they kind of beat themselves having led 17-3 entering the fourth period against Denver, who play in London this Sunday.

But it proved positive to see how Denver quarterback the rookie managed to have the shortfall before lead three successful possessions in three attempts in the fourth quarter, securing the game 21-17.

The Broncos boast the defensive player of the year with cornerback their star corner. They rank first in red zone defence, while Philadelphia lead the league in scoring near the end zone, and Denver prevailed in that battle.

They had effective strategies in terms of simulated pressure. They weren't necessarily rushing extra defenders but they might plug two linebackers in the 'A' gap then drop them out and dispatch a nickel from the outside.

At the start of the season, it was noted during a show that Denver might emerge as this season's dark horses. They ended the previous year well then did a good job of building upon that.

Are the Denver Broncos this season's dark horses?

New TE their tight end has stepped up big while new running back JK Dobbins is a guy the team trusts. He's currently 5th in the NFL for rushing yards (402) and tied for fourth for rushing touchdowns (four).

I love that the coach the Broncos' leader displays "RUN IT!" prominently of his playcall sheet.

This demonstrates how the Broncos are a squad that wants to run first, since you can achieve much based on that approach. It reduces opposing rushes and keeps you in positive situations.

It's also helped QB the young passer, who entered into the league as the 12th overall draft pick in the prior draft, throwing 29 TDs – second only to Justin Herbert for the rookie record (31 in 2020).

Other elite QBs have the arm strength to throw all over, but they lack the mobility as Nix. He boasts incredible arm talent, which is different, plus he's so athletic.

His strengths are his mobility, the capacity to throw while moving, as well as finding different arm angles to make the pass when he rolls out of the pocket, the bootlegs. He is able to deliver precision throws across the middle and past defenders.

For a young quarterback, aged 25, he displays a lot of poise under pressure and is not bothered by the blitz. He aims to evade being tackled as much as possible and can throw in tight spots. He possesses sharp intelligence and remains quick to decide.

If you constantly run the ball it eats up time and makes the opponent to be on the field extended periods, and when you have a mobile QB the defence has to cover the area vertically side to side. This proves exhausting.

Nix has pushed back at Payton during games sometimes and it seems Payton likes that attitude, that he's a fierce rival. I think it's exciting for the coach to have a young quarterback who's kind of like play-dough. The coach can truly develop him the way he desires to build it. I think it's a unique opportunity for the coach.

Payton owns a championship and now passed Bill Parcells for career NFL wins (173 - tied 14th overall). He's seen it all. In my opinion the achievements Denver are experiencing offensively is largely down to his guidance, his play-calling, his situational awareness – and the combination with Nix aids shape him what he is.

You wouldn't want a better guy guiding you, to help you during some of the tougher situations and boost confidence.

I believe in the Broncos' defense, in Bo Nix's tenacity and composure. Yet are they strong enough to face a top squad at full strength? Since that wasn't a Super Bowl performance by the Eagles in their last game.

Right now, it's unlikely Denver are incredible. They're working above average, which is a solid position to be in their division. All they need to do to continue this path.

They excel at embracing their forte, which is the ground game, and that's precisely what they must do versus the Jets at Tottenham. It will likely be a Dobbins-focused game, in essence.

The Jets have allowed 140 rushing yards each contest (among the worst), five rushing touchdowns this season (10th worst), and they are the sole squad yet to win a game.

Ever since the league began tracking turnovers decades ago, the Jets are also the inaugural squad to go without a single takeaway through five games, which is kind of shocking when you think that their new coach Aaron Glenn defensive co-ordinator with another team.

The Chiefs' QB stated the Chiefs are off to a poor start after Monday's defeat to Jacksonville.

After the upcoming matchup, the Broncos have a manageable slate up to their break (in week twelve) - the Giants, Dallas Cowboys, Houston Texans and the Raiders before the Kansas City Chiefs.

Looking at the AFC West, the Chiefs hold a losing record while Denver are even with the Los Angeles Chargers on 3-2 meaning they could challenge at leading the West.

It depends on what version of the Chiefs they meet since the Broncos {beat|def
