Tehran reports attacking a US naval base in Manama, as the country executed strikes throughout the Middle East in response for a significant and ongoing attack against it by the US and Israel.

Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an vicinity close to the headquarters of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The extent of any damage is uncertain and the American officials has not commented.

Airspace Engagements

In other parts of the Middle East, the UAE, the State of Qatar and the State of Kuwait - each hosting US military bases - stated they have shot down incoming projectiles in their air space.

In Doha, the Qatari Ministry of Defence announced it had successfully engaged a number of projectiles apparently targeting the al-Udeid air base, the largest American base in the Middle East.

Operation "Truthful Promise 4"

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) declared it was targeting US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the strikes on the Islamic Republic launched by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday.

That US-Israeli operation - initiated at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far targeted areas associated with the the regime, with President Trump encouraging the Iranian people to rise up against the leadership.

Wider Impacts

In Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israeli military stated it had detected an barrage of missiles from Iran.

The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates stated that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"Emirati air defenses dealt with the missiles with great effectiveness and shot down a several projectiles," it added.

It said missile fragments fell on a neighborhood in the capital, causing some material damage and killing a civilian.

The United States Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, to the south of Abu Dhabi, along with the Emirati Air Force.
