Salah Issues Apology to Squad, Discloses Curtis Jones

The Liverpool midfielder has disclosed that the Egyptian forward expressed regret to the group of players after the uproar from his recent interview.

What Happened

Salah was left out from a vital match after criticising the club and stating his relationship with manager had broken down.

“He speaks for himself and he can say his own stuff,” the midfielder said. “He said sorry to the group and was like: ‘If I’ve affected anybody, please accept my apology.’”

The manager has previously declined to comment publicly on whether he was apologised to from the veteran striker.

Moving Forward

The player stated that the squad's reaction remained positive. “He was the exact same Mo, his demeanour was positive and we all treated him normally,” the midfielder explained.

He also noted that a teammate fighting for a place is less of an issue. “It's clear there are certain ways you can go about things,” he said. “But if a lad’s fine to just not start, then I think that’s more of an issue.”

On-Field Response

Liverpool's form have been impressive in the period after the initial controversy. The player is convinced the outburst were not intended to cause disruption.

“If passion has boiled over, the source has been from a desire to win,” Jones concluded. “It's behind us and we’re uniting strongly, performing and securing victories.”
