The UK is prepared to move forward with using the total value of seized Russia's assets to support Ukraine's war effort, Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has declared.

In a shared declaration, the leaders of the UK, France, and Germany emphasized that this joint measure would escalate tension on Russian President Vladimir Putin and compel Russia to come to the table.

They clarified that the decision would be carried out in tight collaboration with the America.

UK sanctions have immobilized over £25bn of Russia's assets since the Russian government began its comprehensive attack against the Ukrainian nation in 2022. Yet, up to this point, money allocated to the Ukrainian government using Russia's assets had solely been taken from earnings and returns accrued on them.

Sir Keir assured Ukraine's leader Volodymyr Zelensky that the United Kingdom, the French Republic, and the Federal Republic of Germany were in agreement in their goal to advance efforts toward using the complete amount of the immobilized Russia's state funds to conclude the conflict.

He stated that more sanctions in the coming days and weeks would increase the strain on Russia.

This announcement follows European leaders convened in Copenhagen recently to consider utilizing seized Russia's funds for a €140bn financial aid to the Ukrainian nation.

In the previous month, US President Donald Trump called on G7 allies to seize or otherwise use frozen Russia's holdings, based on media sources.

The total of frozen Russia's holdings in the Europe is assessed to be approximately €211bn.

Russia executed extensive bombardments throughout the Ukrainian territory on recently, causing electricity outages in many areas of Kyiv, the city, and multiple additional areas.

Several persons were fatally injured and no fewer than 20 people were injured in the strike, Ukrainian officials reported.

In a message on social media after the strike, Zelensky stated that the premeditated assault aimed at non-military and power facilities.

"What is required is not empty words but concrete steps - from the United States, Europe, and the Group of Seven - in delivering air defence systems and enforcing penalties," he wrote.

"Each restrictive measure weakens Russia's war machine," Zelensky declared, in a separate post.

Also on Friday, Zelensky stated to media outlets he would encourage Sir Keir to enter the PURL scheme, under which partner nations purchase military equipment from the United States to donate to Ukraine.

While praising the United Kingdom's firm backing for the Ukrainian government, he said it should send a clear signal that it would engage in the initiative, as well as impose more restrictions on Russia.
